Noelle and Mark’s engagement session was at Shaker Village in Harrodsburg, KY. This is one of our favorite places to do engagement photos because there are so many amazing places to shoot. At the start of the session, it started to drizzle. So we headed over to a canopy of trees for some sweet romantic umbrella shots. As the rain started to pick up we decided it was best to find a spot indoors. So we headed to the Trustees’ Office where we took some photos with their stunning spiraling staircases and large windows. Once we decided to venture back outdoors the rain had stopped. We had so much fun with Noelle and Mark exploring the fields, white picket fences, and a couple of other gorgeous spots along the way. Our favorite part was listening to their love story and seeing Noelle light up when she talked about it. We absolutely loved the pink heels that Noelle wore for part of the session. They are the same heels that she was wearing when Mark proposed.

Noelle and Mark met on a dating app called Bumble. It’s an app where the girl has all of the control. So when Mark’s profile came up Noelle only had 24 hours to reach out to him. Good thing she did! Right away they had incredible, open, and long conversations and so Noelle decided to share her phone number with Mark, which led to their first date. They had planned to go to a rooftop bar/restaurant in downtown Louisville called 8Up to watch the sunset. Noelle got stuck in traffic and was disappointed that they missed the sunset. The disappointment didn’t last long because they shared some drinks and great conversations leading to a fantastic first kiss.

Noelle and Mark planned a trip with some of their friends to Georgia for the Suwanee Beer Festival over St. Patrick’s Day weekend. That weekend was one of their friend’s Matt’s birthday. So Matt’s wife Kalee and Mark planned a rouse saying that they were going to have a surprise dinner for Matt at a winery. Noelle and Kalee grabbed a glass of wine and then Kalee suggested that they should go outside and look at the fountain. There was a photographer taking pictures of the fountain. Mark asked the photographer to take a picture of them with his phone in front of the fountain which was his “cue” that Mark was ready to propose. Noelle wanted to see the picture when she realized what was happening. Mark pulled Noelle in close and said a few sweet words. He pulled out the ring box and dropped to one knee and asked Noelle to marry him. The photographer captured the entire proposal with photographs that Noelle and Mark will treasure forever. The ring was designed by them together at Jordan Cline in Louisville, KY.

I love these sweet words the Noelle said about their relationship, “I knew for sure I loved Mark when he gave me a foot massage that literally brought me to tears on our first trip together. We hardly turn on our tv’s anymore because we usually find ourselves lost in conversation with one another. Strangely we have our best conversations while laying on my living room floor (where Mark fell in love with me).” We are so excited to celebrate their wedding day with them in Louisville, KY this November. Check back then to see the rest of their love story unfold.
