Sue and Adam’s winter engagement session started off at Rock House Brewing in Lexington, KY. This particular brewery is special to them because their good friends recently opened it. Rock House Brewing is located next to the iconic street that hosts the local Night Market. We had a blast exploring the bar area and also getting to see where they actual brew the beer. Sue and Adam even got to enjoy a beer as part of their engagement session. The next stop on our adventure was Keeneland Racecourse. When Sue and Adam both lived in Lexington, Keeneland was one of their favorite places to go. It is not hard to see why because of the excitement of horse racing and the breathtakingly beautiful grounds. Even though their engagement session was in January, we were blessed with a 60-degree day to enjoy.
Adam and Sue first met because of their mutual friend Brittany. Adam and Brittany had been friends since they were kids and were also roommates at the time. Sue met Brittany while they were both working together at one of the University of Kentucky’s hospitals. Adam and Sue had seen each other before because of their social circles but had never had the opportunity to talk. So one day Adam decided to text Sue and ask her out on a date. Their first date was to JDI Grille and Tavern. They immediately hit it off and bonded over their love for football. Although they both root for rival teams, they were still able to accept each other.
Adam knowing Sue really well planned the perfect proposal. Sue doesn’t like big groups or being the center of attention. So Adam planned a romantic night at home to propose to Sue. He proposed to her with her dream Tacori ring in her pajamas with champagne and roses. She said, “It was a perfect evening for a girl like me.”
Adam and Sue currently live in Nashville but will always hold Kentucky as a special place in their hearts. Not only is it the place that they met but also the horse capital of the world. The bluegrass state is also where Sue learned that bourbon could actually taste good. It is no coincidence that they are getting married at Buffalo Trace this spring. We are so excited about their upcoming wedding and can’t wait to capture their special day.
