Staying with the garden theme of the ceremony, Tera and Shawn’s reception in the ballroom at the Calumet Club was decorated with adorable carved wooden birds and beautiful natural accents. I loved it!! And check out this simple, yet stunning cake, along with the other goodies, made by Adrienne and Co. Gorgeous as always! Enjoy a handful of our favorite images!
To Tera and Shawn: Congratulations!! We could not be happier for you as you begin one of life’s greatest adventures! Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for asking us to share in your special day, and for (Read more...)

Rayna at Always Planned called and asked me if I’d be open to shooting a wedding at the Opera House in Lexington. Uhhhh….let me think about that. YES! Of course!
Anne-Bennett grew up in Kentucky and spent a lot of time watching performances at this theatre. She’s been living in other states more recently, so this was a homecoming of sorts for her. I love that she and Austin picked such a cool spot for their wedding.
Big thanks to all the great vendors!
venue: Lexington Opera House (Thank you all for helping out with the lighting! It rocked!)

Having not been to the Calumet Club before Tera and Shawn’s wedding, I had no idea what to expect… but this place is beautiful! Tera had a friend transform the basement for a lovely garden themed ceremony, and it was perfect!! I absolutely loved the way they had the altar decorated with flowers and garden decor. Enjoy a few of our favorites! :)
And, a few of Eric’s favorite film images from this portion of the day:
Wedding gowns are becoming more and more practical! I am a very practical girl myself so when I came across this awesome idea, I fell in love with it! I actually came upon this new trend by accident. When trying on gowns for my June wedding , I stumbled upon a dress that I absolutley adored. It wasnt until I put it on that I realized the pockets were there! The ease and conveniece of the pockets was so helpful on my wedding day. Pockets are such a neat idea for brides because it offers them the ability to carry necessities with them for those last minute touch ups. Included below is a list of items to be stowed away in those nifty pockets for emergencies on your big day, along with some pictures of my personal favorite pocket gowns. Happy Wedding Planning!
-Handkerchief or small package of Kleenex
-Cell Phone
-Lip Gloss
-Oil blotting sheets
-Bobby Pins
-Safety Pins

Last week, I had the opportunity to meet with Kristalyn Jaramillo of “I Do” Faces’. She is an absolute joy to be around and truly has a shining personality that fits so well with her profession. I loved getting the chance to talk to her about her company and the amazing things she does. When I asked her what she loved most about her job, her face lit up when she explained to me that she loves making women beautiful and instilling in them the ability to feel confident. She originally started make-up artistry part time and truly developed a passion for the profession. For Kristalyn, make-up artistry is not about the make-up but rather about enhancing her clients natural beauty in order to make them feel like a fresher, newer version of themselves. Kristalyn uses her creativity to work with color and create a personalized look that fits her clients style and personality. She offers her clients who are Simply Love visitors a 10% discount! Each one of her packages includes a trail run to ensure that the bride is completely satisfied with her work before the big day. She would love to talk to you about making your big day the most beautiful one of your life! Kristalyn can be reached by email at kristalyn@idofacesusa.com or by phone at 502-494-1778.

At Always Planned we are very sentimental when it comes to Daddys giving away their little girls. So…. I absolutely love this handkerchief I found on Etsy. This would be a great gift to give dad during those last few moments before that special walk down the aisle…. because believe me he is going to need it.

Ah, what can I say about Chris and Janet? They are simply a lovely and fun couple. There is nothing better for a wedding photographer than a laid back couple, and these two are just that. You may remember their fantastic Maker’s Mark engagement shoot, where we had tons of fun. They hiked through grassy fields, climbed on barrels, and played on wagons. It was a blast! This past Saturday they got married, and it turned out to be a beautiful day! I was SO thankful! And Janet has got to be one of the sweetest brides ever. She wanted (Read more...)

This is a video from an incredible wedding we filmed last year working alongside Marcie Hancock with A Thorough Fair. The bride and groom had an incredible time with friends and family. Enjoy the video.Posted by: Always Planned
Let me start by saying that I truly love all of my brides!
That being said, there is something so meaningful to me to know that I have formed a true friendship with one of my brides. You see, when I met Emily and her mom I instantly knew that we were meant to be friends. Emily is the image of a modern southern belle and her mom, Julie sweet as pie! We have dined together and had cocktails together, laughed together and cried together. And together we transformed Talon Winery into a rustic, romantic and elegant venue for the (Read more...)
