As many of you know, we participated in the “Diamond Rings and Pretty Things Bridal Show” at Embassy Suites on January 18th. It was such a good time! There were so many great and exceptionally wonderful vendors present at this festivity. I was fortunate enough to sample the scrumptious delicacies from different caterers and cake wizards. Meeting so many new brides was a highlight as well. So many happy faces brings such joy to us in this industry; a smile is contagious! We loved every minute of it!
The table set up we used was gorgeous. I did not know exactly how it would look when we did a practice set up the day before at the studio, but the end result was truly stunning. The flowers, done in house, were just the most brilliant of colors, with coral roses, deep purple orchids, white hydrangeas, purple cabbage, queen anne’s lace, burnt orange calla lilies and other beautiful flowers. The candles and votives placed on the table were very pretty as well. The votives used were a mixture of gold mercury glass votives and sequins and bead encrusted votives that had a magnificent glow when the candle were lit. I was “obsessed” with our linen selection, La Tabola’s “Isabella” in taupe. I wanted it for my own table at home! Here are some pictures from our fun-filled Sunday!
Had fun at the January bridal show? Great! Come and join us this Saturday at Purdon’s Bridal Fair from 10am- 3pm. We will see you there!
Be Fun. Be Fearless. Be You.
Love always,
Rachel

Wedding season isn’t quite here yet, but that doesn’t mean the many stresses of planning a fabulous wedding aren’t in full swing! When planning a wedding, there are so many things on your mind at once- cake, caterers, venues, guest list, the list goes on and on! However, planning your wedding should be fun and stress-free, so here are some tips on how to stay cool, calm, and collected throughout your wedding planning process.
1. Stay Organized- and Do it in Style!
Staying organized is a major way to stay stress free. Therefore, invest in a good yearly planner! There are SO many cute planners out there (I recommend Lilly Pulitzer) that will immediately change your mood just by looking at them. Not only are planners a good way to keep the times and dates of your appointments organized, but by writing down all the things you have to do, it’s a way to stay underwhelmed and realize that you DO have time to do everything!
2. Take a Day Off!
If all your days are consumed with wedding magazines and phone calls, then you’re just asking to be a big ball of stress. Try taking at least one day out of each week to release your inner child. Go on a date with your man to the park, go for a run, or just be plain lazy! Even better, take an hour out of each day to pamper yourself by getting a manicure, massage, or facial. Spa days are an instant relaxer!
3. Use a Wedding Planner!
This is our personal favorite of course! Your job for your wedding should strictly be just being the bride! You shouldn’t have to worry about what time your cake will be arriving and when the limos will be picking up your bridal party. By hiring a wedding planner, you let go of all the little stresses and just enjoy the process and your big day!
Brides, take all these considerations to heart! Don’t let the stresses of the process overwhelm the joys! It is such an amazing thing to go through and an incredible day full of love. Step back and enjoy it!
xoxo

When Matt and Nicole asked us to film their wedding with Super 8mm film, we were stoked! There was a tiny issue however. Their Super 8mm wedding was taking place at Wildwood Inn located in Denton Texas, and we were photographing a wedding here in Louisville the day before! We finished up our wedding here late Saturday night, went home to pack up, and headed to the airport for our 7 a.m. flight. We landed in Dallas at 9:30 a.m., grabbed lunch, dropped our luggage off, got cleaned up and ready to head to to the wedding. At this point we’ve been awake for close to 30 hours! But, we caught our 2nd (or 4th) wind and were ready to rock.
Their intimate wedding was an absolute blast to film! While I was filming with Super 8mm, wedding photographer George Dean made sure I got my shot and was a fantastic guy to work with!
Enjoy!

Considering I my schedule has been filled with mostly families and babies lately, I haven’t been able to showcase any weddings. So to ensure that you all don’t forget that I do in fact shoot weddings, I decided to post a wedding that I shot before my blog came into existence. I may even put up a blog with some of my favorite shots from the past several weddings in the near future. Adam and Kristen were so great though. I’ve never felt so appreciated while shooting before. Everyone was constantly thanking me for everything and made me feel so incredibly welcome. The more you can let your photographer know that you are grateful for what they are doing and that you totally trust them in what they do, the more free they are to truly do their best. That’s how I felt all day, from the very beginning at the salon where even the adorable flower girl was getting her hair done

Ok, so to illustrate how awesome this crew was, they actually ASKED me to get a photo of this haha

The guys went on a quick golf excursion the morning of the wedding so they had some clubs handy
