Featured blog on Sweet City Candy

I was so excited to learn that Sweet City Candy wanted to feature us in their blog...
The photos for today’s “Passionate Purple Candy Buffet” post come courtesy of our friends at the Something Sweet Candy Buffet Co. They put together this amazingly glamorous purple candy buffet for a recent wedding at The Winchester Opera House in Winchester, Kentucky and were kind enough to share the photos and details with us!
The official bridal colors were several shades of purple, so Something Sweet focused the candy buffet on eggplant and white colored candy, in addition to the bride and groom’s personal favorites – Kit Kats and champagne truffles.   Some people would have been afraid to include the Kit Kats because they veer from the color scheme, but I love the pop of orange that it adds to the table.  It’s just the right amount of contrast needed and makes this display really stand out.  And since they’re the groom’s personal favorite, they were definitely a must-have.
Here is a list of the candy that was included:
Thanks so much Something Sweet for sharing these awesome photos with us!

I wanted to share a few more pictures of Ali and Chris to begin the week.  I also wanted to share a photo of James Dean, one of the inspirational factors in this engagement shoot.  Whatever IT is, James Dean had IT.  Chris did a fantastic job portraying the James Dean look and Ali is positively stunning. Thanks to Parkette Drive-In (our venue), Candace Reichbach (owner of Fleet Stree Hair Shoppe), and Street Scene (Ali’s wardrobe).

My favorite part about the next table-scape are the feathers and the color palette.  Light blue, white, and silver are so sophisticated.  So great to meet you, Jan, and to see your lovely daughters (my fellow high school classmates). Designer: Elegant Events by Jan

The Art of Entertaining: Part One

I had the pleasure working with Seasons Catering & Special Occasions a couple weeks ago.  Seasons sponsored The Art of Entertaining, an event that showcases the latest trends and talents of local planners, florists, designers, and catering companies.  I was asked (Melissa Buck with Soiree Blue was my contact and she was wonderful to work with) to photograph tables that displays these trends and talents.  There were about 20 beautiful tables and I enjoyed photographing all the lovely details.  I will be posting pictures from each designer over the next few days.

Enjoy!  I hope this can be a great resource for brides and party planners.  Each table is stunning in its own way!

This first table was deigned by Sherwood Design and Events and Soiree Blue.  Rentals were from Bryant’s Rent All.  Sherwood Design and Events also created the entryway tables for the party.  The are below as well.
