Holy. Cow. Friday night was the grand re-opening of The Campbell House and I’m so glad I got to go to see this iconic venue’s multi-million dollar face lift. Doug & Glenn of Doug Smith Designs has worked with their management team for a few months planning this event and from my stand point it came off flawless! When your guests enter the lobby they are greeted by a horse shoe themed chandelier that is out of this world, a seating area by a transformed fire place and the cozy, hospitality feel Kentucky offers.
The first ballroom that you have to choose from is The Paddock Room, which was set for about 72, but could hold more, I would say close to a 100 comfortably. There’s a small pre-function area before it, but it was all completely gutted and brand new! One of the things I hear a lot of Brides talk about is the carpet, how it doesn’t match their colors. No need to worry about that here, it’s very neutral and will match every color. The room was set with coral linens from Purdon Rental, silver chavari chairs from Purdon Rental, cake by Tinker’s Cake Shop, sequin cake table linen and flowers from Doug Smith Designs & Events.
After leaving the Paddock Room, you are in the pool area, where you could have a ceremony, cocktail hour and photo booth.
For the large ballroom, you can enter through the front entrance and walk back or there is a back entrance for it. I don’t have any full pictures of it yet, but it’s all very neutral as well. Doug Smith Designs had it decorated with black linens, black sequin runners, black spandex chair covers and rose centerpieces, to keep with the Kentucky feel.
The Campbell House has several types of rooms, for you, your wedding party and your out of town guests. Everything in the rooms is brand new. My favorite, of course, is the Presidential Suite, which is perfect for you & your bridesmaids to get dressed. When you walk in there’s a large table & chairs, then you walk into a living area and bar, then into the bedroom, huge hallway with a place to hang your dress and a full size mirror and the bathroom with a separate shower & bathroom.
Of course there are traditional queen & king size rooms and small suites as well. In addition to all of the renovation, Kilbern’s restaurant was also renovated and has an awesome private room that will seat about 24 for rehearsal dinner.
In addition to these renovations, they have several smaller conference rooms and tons more options they can show you. If you are interested in having your bridal shower, rehearsal dinner or wedding here Terri Stefanski is your contact and if you’re interested in having a room block here your contact is Kyle
Cheers to a new era at The Campbell House!
