My name is Taylor Dick and I am the new intern here at Simply Love Studio! I am beyond excited to be spending my semester learning from Sarah, tons of amazing vendors, and hearing from all the brides about their engagement, wedding day, and everything in between.
Since I’ll be playing a part here in the studio, we thought it would be good to share a little about me and why I am here.
I am a senior at the University of Kentucky studying social work. As of now, I am throwing around the idea of continuing my education and getting my masters degree after I graduate in May. My ultimate goal is to end up working somewhere in the criminal justice/mental health field. I’d like to end up working back home in Somerset, KY, the place I love to call home. That is where my beautiful family (hi mom!), amazing boyfriend, childhood friends, church family and heart belong. But for now, I am truly happy to call Lexington my home away from home. I am an avid UK basketball fan, a big sister, an animal lover, and a fan of food and country music. Spending time with my family, fishing, and going on random adventures are things I like to do in my spare time.
So now comes the burning question.
Like many other ladies in my age group, I have had my wedding planned since I was like 12. Seriously. It’s’ all in my head and on my Pinterest.
However, it isn’t just my future wedding I’m obsessed with; it’s everyone’s wedding I fan girl over too. I love weddings and every aspect of them. I am the girl who sits and cries at handwritten vows, spends Friday nights watching bride day on TLC, has subscriptions to countless wedding magazines, and am now spending my free time learning how to turn my hobby into something I could use professionally one day. I love seeing the dresses, the venues, the flowers, and all the big details. I also love to see the family traditions, the father-daughter dance, the moment the groom sees his bride for the first time, and all the other moments that make you tear up and realize why the wedding is happening in the first place; to celebrate and recognize a new marriage. Besides being a social worker and a Disney princess, wedding coordination, planning, and other related jobs have always been a dream of mine.
So that is a little bit about me and why I am here in the first place. I cannot wait to see the opportunities that open up while working with Sarah, the vendors, and all the brides!
