I am so excited to blog about this beautiful wedding!! The first time I met with Jamie I knew that I just had to help her with her wedding! When she was describing the southern grace and Kentucky charm she wanted to portray to all of her guests, especially those from California. After chatting with her I found out that she was busy living in LA and working on the movie
Avatar – yes THE HUGE blockbuster movie! EEK!! So exciting and from then on I referred to her as Jamie my Avatar bride, lol!!
OK so here are the

WOW. What an absolutely fantastic wedding! We had the extreme pleasure of photographing Julie and Pete’s big day at one of the most gorgeous homes I’ve ever seen: Welcome Hall in Versailles, Kentucky. But let’s start at the beginning: We met up with Julie and the girls at a hotel in Lexington in the morning where the fabulous Ana Crane-Simpson was working her magic with hair and make-up. Once all the girls were all dolled up, we headed out to Welcome Hall to start the day with some stunning portraits around the property.
We were thrilled to be able to (Read more...)

After a beautiful outdoor ceremony, JoBeth and Jeremie joined all their guests in the conference center for dinner and dancing. I love how the natural theme of the wedding carried through into the details of the reception. And, check out what drink the couple had to toast with… these two are my kind of bride and groom :) Who needs champagne? Especially when you can have something that tastes MUCH better!
Congratulations, JoBeth ad Jeremie! Your wedding was gorgeous, and it looks like everyone had a blast celebrating with you! We wish you all the best and a lifetime full (Read more...)

One word: PINWHEELS! No matter if you are having an outdoor wedding and want to add something a little whimsical to it or a party and need to add a little fun, pinwheels are the way to go!! They are so cute and inexpensive. Plus, there are many sellers on www.etsy.com which make custom pinwheels to coordinate with your other decor! Below are some pictures of parties and weddings where pinwheels have been used. Hopefully these pictures will give you a little inspiration for your next fabulous event!

When we first met JoBeth and Jeremie, we knew we were going to LOVE working with them. These two have such awesome personalities, and they make the most adorable couple!! Eric and I had the honor of photographing their engagement session last fall, and I must admit, we are a little jealous that Kari is the one who was photographing the wedding… We just knew it was going to be awesome! But, as always, Kari did a fantastic job of capturing the details and emotions of the day! We were thrilled that Kara of Kara Leigh Photography was able to (Read more...)

One of my favorite parts of a wedding is the Father/Daughter dance. It is what I believe to be one of the sweetest and most emotional moments of the whole day because you have a daddy dancing with his little girl who he has just had to let go. However, it seems like brides seem to use some of the same songs over and over such as “Butterfly Kisses,” “I Loved Her First” and so on… However, Edwin McCain has come out with an new single “Walk With You” that would be perfect for a Father/Daughter dance that most people (Read more...)

After 4 years of photographing weddings, one thing we have noticed is that an incredible live band at the reception makes all the difference in the world when it comes to making sure your guests will have a fantastic time. At Erin and Brian’s reception, EVERYONE danced the whole night, thanks to an awesome performance by Band 24/7 from Nashville. There was so much energy all night!
We want to thank all the other fabulous vendors that helped make Erin and Brian’s wedding absolutely perfect… And if you’re a bride or groom planning your own wedding, definitely check these out… (Read more...)
